This is very, very cool. Sure, they’ve copied tons from the iPhone, but in a good way. (Not the usual bad way.) And there are several intelligent UI choices that really extends the iPhone interaction model to a new level:
For example, the several different activity screens you swipe to—which can contain several small application or content in a Dashboard-like interface (they showed e.g. a Google search field and a calendar), and not only different screens of applications—I think could be a more versatile solution, and one better suited to a mobile user’s review-and-dismiss pattern and need for rapid access than the current, very static, iPhone Home Screen implementation.
I hope Apple can accept and appreciate that there are, finally, some NIH (Not Invented Here) ideas worth looking at, even when it comes to User Interface/Interaction Design!
